All critical components are manufactured from high tensile (Weldox 700) and hard wearing steels (Hardox 400/500).

All pivoting points, even the static areas are fitted with harden steel bushes (No on site line boring).

Maximum ground contact is achieved due to the machine being able to oscillate and articulate (45 degrees) at the center section.

Reduced fuel consumption due to the engine running at constant RPM and the high efficiency of the hydrostatic drive train.

An infinitely variable hydrostatic drive allows seamless transition from forward to reverse whilst providing maximum torque to the wheels. The Hydrostatic drive is able to bring the machine from full speed to a standstill without the application of any friction materials (no wear).

Superior traction enabling the machine to traverse steep inclines and declines. Tests done at Gerotek prove that the machine is able to ascend and descend a 45 degrees (100%) incline.

Modular design enables the machine to be easily stripped and reassembled for rebuilding underground and transporting the machine from underground to surface in vertical shafts. The center section is a bolt on design facilitating easy replacement in the underground workshops resulting in major cost savings and reduced down time.

The LHD’s are designed with short tail end section for superior maneuverability in undulating conditions.

Ergonomically designed drivers cabin is designed to fit a man up to 2m in height. The ergonomic design ensures drivers comfort and reduced fatigue over a shift. The driver’s cabin is located in the rear body reducing operator’s risk from being injured by bucket spillage.

The machine front and rear sections, are able to be sealed to stop oil leaking onto the foot wall and damaging the environment.

At NO time does any maintenance personnel have to get under the machine. All LHD’s are designed with the highest considerations given to all concepts of SAFETY.

Machine can be configured to fit different diesel manufacturer’s engines (John Deere, Deutz, etc).

The machines 18hd to 50hd can be fitted with our heavy duty SAHR service brake. This brake is in current service and it has proven it can repeatedly bring a 57 Ton Dump Truck from full speed to rest on various inclines at the mine.

All latest LHD’s has three independent systems that are able to decelerate the machine from full speed to rest.

These are emergency, service and hydrostatic deceleration.

All LHDs come standard with a second speed option.
